Generalizing with perceptrons in case of structured phase - and pattern - spaces ∗

چکیده

We investigate the influence of different kinds of structure on the learning behaviour of a perceptron performing a classification task defined by a teacher rule. The underlying pattern distribution is permitted to have spatial correlations. The prior distribution for the teacher coupling vectors itself is assumed to be nonuniform. Thus classification tasks of quite different difficulty are included. As learning algorithms we discuss Hebbian learning, Gibbs learning, and Bayesian learning with different priors, using methods from statistics and the replica formalism. We find that the Hebb rule is quite sensitive to the structure of the actual learning problem, failing asymptotically in most cases. Contrarily, the behaviour of the more sophisticated methods of Gibbs and Bayes learning is influenced by the spatial correlations only in an intermediate regime of α, where α specifies the size of the training set. Concerning the Bayesian case we show, how enhanced prior knowledge improves the performance.

Structured Network Public Spaces a Step Toward Integration of Urban

Network of public spaces composes of a network of interconnected land use and various elements of the city, such as synthetic and natural which shows the city as a whole. Network structure of public spaces is important because understanding this network as a structure presents us the formation of the city. This paper attempts to define the status of the network of public spaces in the city stru...

Uniform connectedness and uniform local connectedness for lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces

We apply Preuss' concept of $mbbe$-connectedness to the categories of lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces and of lattice-valued uniform spaces. A space is uniformly $mbbe$-connected if the only uniformly continuous mappings from the space to a space in the class $mbbe$ are the constant mappings. We develop the basic theory for $mbbe$-connected sets, including the product theorem. Furtherm...

Impact of In-between Spaces on Residential Environment Quality A Case Study on Public Housing in Kerman

Decreasing qualitative aspects of residential environments is a real problem in recent public housing of Kerman. This article is concentrated on surveying the impact of in-between spaces on residential environments quality (REQ), to evaluate different kinds of it and to determine interrelation of two main components: residents individual characteristics and characteristics of in-between spaces....

Designing a Conceptual Pattern to Integrate Urban Spaces Network with the View of “New Urbanism”, Using F’ANP Model, Case Study: District 6 of Tehran

In response to the failure of modernist approach in the new urban ideas, attention to the public spaces in cities has become as a basic necessity in terms of planning and urban design. Study on the concept of urban space as a structural element in the cities, is developing and expanding. Multiple authors have done many studies in this area, and the results indicate that urban areas play a key r...

The Concept of Behavioral Setting and its Impact on Improving Environmental Quality Neighborhood Parks (Case Study: Shiraz SEKONJ Neighborhood Park)

Neighborhood parks are important as spaces of residential neighborhoods where part of the daily interactions of residents take place. Hence, the study of environmental quality of the behavioral settings in which they are formed can be considered a suitable indicator to measure environmental quality with behavioral patterns. In order to intervene or adopt strategies in the design and planning of...
